HENRII ENDEAVORS TO CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF LIGHT THROUGH SCULPTING, ENABLING ILLUMINATION ITSELF TO BECOME A PRESENCE IN ANY SPACE.
Creating functional lighting vessels that seamlessly blend art and design, the studio finds inspiration from sculptures and remnants of the past.
To create their lighting vessels, the studio uses hand-molded clay to form abstract sculptures that are then transformed into functional pieces using their proprietary Biopolymer Filaments. Each piece belongs to its unique series, with each vessel playing a distinct role within interior spaces. Throughout the creative process, the studio considers both traditional and modern production methods to push the limits of what is possible when merging old-world artisanship with today's context and technologies.

CREATIVE DIRECTION
Chris Ara Cho studied at Parsons School of Design, earning her BFA in fashion design. After starting her career as a design assistant at Calvin Klein Collection, she spent over 15 years working in the fashion industry collaborating with various brands.
As a way to shift focus back to modest craft, HENRII (ohn-rē) places significant emphasis on the practice of hand building to form the brand’s cornerstone of uniquely familiar motifs. This brand concept creates a platform and space where one can experiment by combining different practices, while folding in new tools and skills from other disciplines.
